Jump to solution

Where can i find more information about whitelisting my software products with McAfee so that my customers who use MacAfee's products as well do not see false positives using my software?

Thanks.

Hi rahulsawhney,

Please find the below link which give you more information about ‘Stinger’.

http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?lc=1033&id=TS100815  (What is Stinger and how does it work?)

Moved to VirusScan.  Not too sure what Stinger has got to do with this.

GetSusp

McAfee GetSusp is intended for users who suspect undetected malware on their computer.

Stinger

McAfee Stinger detects and removes prevalent Fake Alert malware and threats identified in the "List Viruses" section of the Stinger application.

The user is asking how to whitelist something not remove something.

Thank you, I am looking for a way to pre-emptively whitelist my software with McAfee and prevent the false positives altogether.. something similar to Symantec:

https://submit.symantec.com/whitelist/isv/

Is there something like that?

I don't know of a whitelisting form per se but you can appeal false positives as in that link I provided.

I have no idea if the Enterprise side of things has such a process I'm afraid.
