Trouble Completing Full Scan In Windows 8.1 x64

Will this fix work for Windows 8.1 x64 with media center? For the past month or so every time a scan runs my computer just completely locks up. I've have reinstalled windows I have reinstalled McAfee, I have run sfc and chkdsk numerous times which seems there are no corrupt files anywhere. I'm more than a tad bit frustrated; I mean considering every time this scan runs my computer just locks up for hours until I have to force my pc to shutdown... I'd love to be able to run a full scan and be able to rest assured that I have no viruses (which I doubt that I do have, since I rarely download anything and try to avoid unsafe sites), but how can I rest assured when my McAfee All Access can not run a full scan?

Hi ,

I see that you are having issues completing your Full Scan whilst this thread discussed a BSOD issue when McAfee is installed. Please start a separate thread and point me there so that I can assist you further.

No need to make a new thread, I branched this out of the old one, re-titled it and moved it to VirusScan as a more appropriate spot.

Did you observe if the scan freezes at any particular file. Also check if the PC has pending Windows Updates. PC needs to be Shut Down and Turned ON for installing few critical Windows updates. This is generally identified by a exclamation mark next to the Shut Down button
