My Mcafee did a complete system scan and the results were " Your computer is secure" and 0 Viruses and spyware detected. Yet when I clicked on " View Reports" it says:
Tracking Cookies: 0
Buffer Overflow: 0
Potenially Unwanted Programs: 1
I clicked on Navigation to see what this trojan was and if it was cleaned yet the History and Logs - Scan information lists no files or Processes detected and no files quanantined.
I checked my Quanantined files and it only list 2 files from Sept 12.
I ran a completed system scan x2 and it takes several hours. My question is do I have a Trojan infection or does that View Reports on the Home Screen which shows Security Report list pass infections? Since if I did have a Trojan why did not my McAfee program take care of it and quanantine it? Why is it saying my computer is secure?
I think and this has been asked previously and we mods have requested Mcafee alter the GUI as that noting is the number of detections since you installed the program. it is therefore a running total if it is what i think you are talking about.
ie is it this page of the GUI
Thanks for the response. I guess it is still reporting the Trojan I had in Sept which it quarantined. I even ran that Stinger scan and it found nothing. Thought it was odd since the last time I had the Trojan in Sept McAfee alerted me with all sorts of bells and whistles .
Yes that is it this confuses some users and we are pushing to get this change or at least reworded. Actually in 12.1 the current beta the area now says at the top activity since you last installed. It shows how many threats detected scans types of scans etc so they may be learning from the reports we send in.
