McAfee has turned itself off and it only tells me to renew or check for updates, however when I try to check for updates it sits at 0% and does nothing.
It has also turned off Web Advisor and all of the security, so right now I'm unprotected
The funny side to this is that it wants me to renew it or stay unprotected.. but I renewed it last week and I have 350 days of 'protection' left.. So right now McAfee is holding me to ransom.
PS. Hello to all.
I have been having the same problem, really starting to get my back up. I've read other people views, this sort of thing has been going on for years. McAfee must be at fault. Don't think I'll be renewing or recommending this to anyone. Appears safe just now in this site, funny that.
Hiya Conor. Long time no see. Come on in and join the fun.
Hmm. AV switches off, won't update, a valid subscription .... if it was anyone but you I would have said it was a malware infection. I'll let Peter and Tony deal with this, they're better on the actual product and how it behaves (or misbehaves).
Conor et al Are you getting renew subscription or verify subscription messages? Yes reboot 1st thing to try then verify subscription on right right click menu of security centre then call support and ask them to fix it.
Usually the subscription repair tool the way to go but best they run it and we find out what the actual message is.Message was edited by: Peacekeeper on 13/07/12 7:01:48 PM
It says that I am unprotected and I must renew my subscription or check for updates - However it fixes itself after about 10 minutes. Very Weird.
It happened again today, if it happens a third time, I'll run all the checks because it will be getting a regular occurrence then..
Please do the following and attach the screen shot of the MSC Page
McAfee just crashed while I was away from the computer and it closed, and now it is nowhere to be seen on my desktop.
Edit - It says my subscription has expired in 2011 yet the other 2 computers on the liscense are up to date with 300 days left!Message was edited by: ConorD62 on 7/13/12 11:01:02 PM IST
Seems to imply it thinks you are on another account? Did you ever have 1 that expired then?
I would run the susbscription repair tool after ensuring the account has spare licences.
Best let karthiks to do it .
