For the past few months, whenever I open a Word document, I get the pop-up "The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open." If I select "ok", the document opens. I read on the internet that anti-virus real time scanning can cause this and sure enough, when I turn off McAfee real time scanning, Word documents open without the pop-up. Does anyone have any ideas?

It's good to know the cause and if McAfee doesn't fix it, I know that a new version of Word will. Thanks for the quick and helpful response, selvan.

I would like to see this fixed, or be provided with a way to have the program exclude Word documents from real time scanning. Office 2007 is compatible with Windows 10 in every other meaningful way, and there was no problem with this setup until a few months ago. I would be more inclined to switch to another security product than pay for a new copy of MS Office.
LiveSafe version 16.0
Security Center buikd 17.6.149
VirusScan build 22.1.145
