McAfee Real-time Scanner/mcshield.exe

Security Center 9.0
Anti-Virus 13.0
Vista Ult

Trying to do some tests and I need to disable McAfee Real-time Scanner/mcshield.exe for a few minutes, but I am unable to do so via the SC command, or through services.msc. I can run both as an administrator, but still says access denied.

Where in the registry is the key locking me out from being able to disable this for a few minutes?

Please give answer, not questions. I don't wish to go to another product, but I will if I get played with.

RE: McAfee Real-time Scanner/mcshield.exe

Double-click the taskbar icon to open Security Center
Click Advanced Menu (bottom left)
Click Configure (left)
Click Computer & Files (top left)
Disable VirusScan in the right-hand module and tell it for how long.

Firewall can be disabled similarly just substitute Internet & Network for Computer & Files above.

McAfee Real-time Scanner/mcshield.exe

Wrong, this doesn't disable the service. I need it disabled as in "sc config mcshield start= disable" kind of disabled. Doing that doesn't stop any services, or processes, just stops the processes/services from doing anything, yet keeping them running.

Again, real answer please, not the standard "computer stupid" user crap.

RE: McAfee Real-time Scanner/mcshield.exe

Sorry, don't know. Apart from disabling them in services.msc under an Adminstrative level user sign-in I can't advise you further.
