I can't run a scan and real-time scanning won't stay on

Hi,

I've searched the internet trying to sort this out but i just can't seem to fix the problem. My real-time scanning will not stay turned on and everytime i try to run a scan (full or quick scan) i get a message saying  "An error has occured. An unexpected problem occured during your scan. Please click OK to go back to the home page, and then try running your scan again"

Please HELP

1 try running MVT the Mcafee virtual technician here

2. I suppose a clean reinstall would be the next thing to try.

Remove Mcafee

reboot a couple of times run

http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/Mcpreinstall.exe

and reinstall from your account

I assume you do not have another malware scanner or AV installed that has a real time scanner active? Tese will clash with Mcafee big time.

The account would have been created when you registered the program initially

Also if you got Mcafee from a partner this might help.

  1. Reinstall your McAfee products.
