Help - Total Protection Scans All of My Drives

Hello,

I recently had to rebuild my system.  The version of McAfee that I ended up with is different from what I had before the rebuild (my netbook still has the original).  This "Total Protection" product is impossible to configure.  I want to run scheduled scans but I don't want it to scan all of my drives every time (takes 11 hours).

Can anyone tell me how to configure this thing?  This is SecurityCenter 10, VirusScan 14.  My old one is 9.15 and 13.15 respectively.

Thanks,

Mark

On both the old and the new it is only possible to be selective using a manual scan otherwise all drives and attached devices will be scanned.

Either right-click the taskbar icon and select Run a Scan and then lick the Custom option or double-click the taskbar icon to open SecurityCenter, then click on Virus and Spyware Protection, then Scan your PC, then Run a Custom Scan.

Moved to VirusScan 14.

Thanks but that's not the problem.  I understand that I can do a manual scan that way.

I want to configure the scheduled scans that run in the middle of the night.

Unfortunately with this product the only way of doing that would be to disconnect those drives.

That is unfortunate.

I guess I don't need to waste any more time trying to configure this product to work the way I want it to.

Thanks,

Mark
