It is said Mcafee online backup does this.
i read that if those files arent syncronized with mcafee's online backup that mcafee or mozy will place the circle with an exclamation mark on those file. however, i do not use the online backup offered by mcafee or mozy. the circles just appearred a couple days ago. now i need to know how to remove them without having to syncronize them with the online backup since none of my files are with the online backup.
edited to say that i found out how to fix the problem. since i do not use the online backup, i just uninstalled it.
Just uninstall Mcafee reboot and reinstall mcafee from your account with custom install used . Choose to not install online backup.
Of course if you want to use it follow Dinz's comments belowMessage was edited by: Peacekeeper on 5/07/11 7:35:01 PM
There is no need for uininstall or reinstall , its just that these files which have a red Excla ation have undergone some modification since when you backed up your files the last time or
The file has not been previously backed, but will be when the next backup runs . If you recently replaced your computer, your files must be synchronized with your previous backups. Your files will have red exclamation points on them until you complete a full backup with the new computer.
