Does anyone have a clue how to remove old scan logs from Virus scan v15.00 total home protection? I can't believe this is so darn difficult. I'm on xp for an os.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, after 3 hrs of searching, I'm still lost.Message was edited by: deefilly on 1/18/12 10:12:37 AM CST
OK even though one theoretically could delete the mclogs folder contents, you can't delete them without causing malfunctions in the user interface. So the answer is no you can't. However there may be a way which you could ask Tech Support about. They are free via phone or online chat, linked under Useful Links at the top of the page.
I located this:
but no matter how much I right click nothing happens. I tried to system restore past the log entry, that did not work. I change the log properities in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\McAfee\VirusScan\Logs....that did not work either. If this log survives a system restore is it hidden in the fat files? Geezeeeee.

No that doesn't work with the home products. Like so many online articles there is no date to indicate when it was written plus the author didn't state whether this referred to home products or Enterprise.
That may have worked with the old style SecurityCenter but I can't honestly recall if it was. This is the old interface:
