RE: uninstall tool

To clarify:

If I ran the uninstall locally from a cmd prompt i would use:
c:\program files\mcafee\common framework\frminst.exe /forceuninstall /silent

If I ran the uninstall locally from the run command I would use:
"c:\program files\mcafee\common framework\frminst.exe" /forceuninstall /silent

If I ran the uninstall via a script applied against the machine I would use:
"c:\program files\mcafee\common framework\frminst.exe" /forceuninstall /silent

RE: uninstall tool

Wouldn't you need the first speech mark, too? One at both ends of the path???

RE: uninstall tool

You can try this :

<ePO Agent InstPath>\Frminst.exe /SiteInfo=<your new epo server SiteList.xml>

to change ePO Server happy

RE: uninstall tool

Jesse, your solution for this problem is very interesting. It might save me a lot of time.
I checked the epo server yesterday and it appears that there are more clients that do not connect the correct server.
My astimation is about 600 - 700 computers... ppfff and my bosses are breathing down my neck to fix this problem.
Please explain further, Our old server is called Artemis and our new is call Azn-svap088-amg.

So how do i redirect the agent to the right one with your solution?

Btw there is a ripper for uninstalling clients, this will complete delete the register of all mcafee components on the client.
If anyone is interested in this 'unsupported' program from McAfee please let me know.
Then i will post it from you or mail it to you.

Thanks in advance,

RE: uninstall tool

1. Export the Azn-svap088-amg's SiteList.xml file
ePO -> Repository ->Distributed Repositoryes -> Export repository list

2. put the SiteList.xml file to a public folder let your client can access it. i.e. \\public\SiteList.xml

3. we copy the SiteList.xml file to client local c:\ , then execute script like :
<ePO Agent InstPath>\Frminst.exe /SiteInfo=c:\SiteList.xml

and we package the script to a self-execute file , then took advantage of ePO Agent policy
(Run options at ePO Agent Updates) from your old one (Artemis) . So it just affected your
problem client's...

RE: uninstall tool

I don't see the option sitelist ePO -> Repository ->Distributed Repositoryes -> Export repository list.
I searched the directory of C:/program files/McAfee for the sitelist.xml.

He finds several, i picked the one in the azn-svap088-amg directory.
When i share it and full out your command:

"c:\program files\mcafee\Common Framework\frminst.exe" /siteinfo=\\azn-svap002-amg\SiteInfo$\siteinfo.xml

I get the following error:
\\azn-svap002-amg\SiteInfo$\siteinfo.xml does not have a ePO server entry.

how can i fix this?

RE: uninstall tool

sorry found the button export list^^ was in black in the top of the screen..

i'll try again
