mcconsol.exe command line switches?

Jump to solution

Hi All,

Does anyone know if there are any command line switches for mcconsol.exe?  In particular, I want to be able to launch the console for a remote machine.  We use SCCM for pretty much everything, and I want to write a script that enables me to right-click on a PC and open it's VirusScan Console

Thanks very much,

Rob

The console does have a couple of switches but these are not disclosed since they're not offered as supported use-cases for the console.

I expect the syntax you're interested in is:

mcconsol.exe /server ComputerName

Thanks for the post.

Although the /server switch is useful I'm actually looking for a switch that would allow me to unlock the console as well. It would be nice to integrate it into powershell to create cmdlets that allow quickly accessing a remote console, unlocked, etc.

Thanks,

Mike

Ah, in that case there is no switch for that. It doesn't have that kind of functionality.

There's a site for submitting ideas to improve the product, even if you think you might be the only one to benefit from it (the more people who seek the same functionality the better of course):

Thanks Warren, this is exactly what I needed!

Whould you please disclose the other valid switches? I would like to unlock mcconsole.exe and stop/start access protection by command line. I fumbled in the blind and tried /unlock and /password <mypassword123> with no luck. Maybe also combined with /server. Or are my question a huge security risk and not supported?

@oladunk123 There is not a command line option to unlock the console. In regards to other switches, as wwarren mentioned, the switches that do exist (which aren't many) are not disclosed because they are not supported use-cases for the console.
