Windows7 & VirusScan 8.7 p2 & No Taskbar icon

Hi,

Software:
Windows 7 Enterprise
ePO 4.5
VirusScan 8.7 patch 2
- Engine 5400
Anti-Spyware 8.7
McAfee Agent 4.5

Issue:
I have a number of Windows 7 enterprise machines that have virusscan 8.7 patch 2 & mcafee agent 4.5 installed (deployed via ePO). The issue is that there are no mcafee icons on the taskbar and non are showing in the hidden items section.

When the agent was first installed the virusscan icon dissapeared and the new agent icon appeared and all was lovely. Now there are no mcafee icons. VirusScan & the agent appear to be installed and reporting correctly to ePO.

Is anyone else having similar issues? I've had a search of the forum but couldn't find any mention of it..

James

RE: Windows7 & VirusScan 8.7 p2 & No Taskbar icon

they are pulling agent policy to show icon and allow user updates from epo?

RE: Windows7 & VirusScan 8.7 p2 & No Taskbar icon

It doesn't look like policies are being applied from ePO but I can see from the agent log that it think's it's enforcing policies.

RE: Windows7 & VirusScan 8.7 p2 & No Taskbar icon

To clarify my ambiguous last post:

I can see that non of the ePO virusscan policy is being applied to the client by looking at exceptions & the interface isn't locked etc.

However I can see by looking at the client log that it thinks it's enforcing policies.

Why don't you reinstall the Mcafee agent by using forceinstall option?

RE: Windows7 & VirusScan 8.7 p2 & No Taskbar icon

Forceinstall has not made any difference. There are still no McAfee icon on the taskbar, see screenshot.

Right click the task bar select properties then customise you can put in the task bar from there

RE: Windows7 & VirusScan 8.7 p2 & No Taskbar icon

It's already set to "show icon and notifications". I've already also tried restoring the default icon behaviour but the mcafee icon didn't appear and show all icons taskbar also didn't make the mcafee icon appear.
