Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800ccc0e, Socket Error: 10013

Jump to solution

Hello,

We've just purchased McAfee Endpoint Antivirus and there've been no problems with installation.

I have however run into an issue with Microsoft Live Mail.  Once I install McAfee Antivirus 8.8 I am unable to send email via Microsoft Live Mail.  I've tried a lot of things and the only thing that works is removing McAfee.

Here's the error information from Microsoft Live Mail 2011.

The connection to the server has failed.

Subject 'Publisher to PDF for email'
Server: 'smtp-server.bak.rr.com'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC0E
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 25
Secure(SSL): No
Socket Error: 10013

But, once I remove McAfee I'm able to send email via smtp-server.bak.rr.com.  Any suggestions anyone how I can get this fixed?

System info:

Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Thanks,

Chris

Sounds to me like it could be an issue with the "Prevent mass mailing worms from sending mail" in Access Protection of VSE.

It's under "Anti-virus Standard Protection"
