Windows 8, Winserver 2012 and VSE 8.8 updater

When I run "Update Now" the module runs, it "Initializes update...", then downloads catalog.z, then "verifying catalog.z" then it repeats the line "The requested file does not exist" twice and, of course, it does not update anything. I can manually download the SDAT file and it runs and updates fine, but I would like it to auto-update as it is programmed. It doesn't work on Windows 8 or Winserver 2012. It works fine on Windows 7 professional, Enterprise and Ultimate. I have installed through Patch 3

Any ideas how to fix it?

Moved from Home > VirusScan to Business > VSE for better attention.

Re: Windows 8, Winserver 2012 and VSE 8.8 updater

Could you check its version as 8.8.0.1128?.Also make your the MA version should be 4.6.0.3122 and VirusScan 8.8.0.1128 (Patch3).

Download and install Reposted P3, build 1128

The Repost Patch 3 package installs:

  • ü  Patch 3 to Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 systems only.
  • ü  Patch 2 to all other supported Windows versions.

Note: Although the package includes both Patch 3 and Patch 2, only the appropriate patch is deployed to client systems, depending on the platform

If you have installe patch 3, do you see its version as 8.8.0.975 or 8.8.0.1128, if there is 8.8.0.975 then You need to remove it and reinstall reposted full package that contains both p2 and p3.

Re: Windows 8, Winserver 2012 and VSE 8.8 updater

Since installation I have manually downloaded SDAT files and it shows it has upgraded to 8.8.0.1151. Some of the files from 1128 are still extant from that version according to the service bulletin which shows each DLL and their version, but others are at 1151 and trying a reimstall of Patch 3 says I already have a later version.

Re: Windows 8, Winserver 2012 and VSE 8.8 updater

Do not run setup file over exixting one, remove previos installation download the complate package file VSE880LMLRP3.Zip that is more than 53 MB.

And I think VSE p2 is 8.8.0.975 and P3 is 8.8.0.1128. You are mentioning Engine versions not the product.

You should have 8.8.0.1128 on w8 and server 2012.
