VSE is missing a file that is uploaded and written to a SQL database

Product is McAfee VirusScan Enterprise and Anti Spyware 8.8. It is installed on two Windows 2012 servers, one running IIS, the other running SQL. The user application in IIS8 allows a user to upload a file that is then written in to the database on the other server. Testing with an Eicar test file nothing is identified, this is because on the webserver the file is only in memory and not written to disk, instead it is written directly in to the database where also it can't be seen. We don't want to modify the app to write locally so what is the best way to handle this ?  Can we configure VSE to scan memory on the webserver and identify the file that way ?  Thanks
