VSE for Storage - How files scanned by VSES?

Hi Heroes,

We are going to test VSE for Storage with NetApp, May i ask will the whole file transferred to mcafee or only the metadata of the file for scanning?

Hi Team, 
Thanks for raising your questions in the community forum, 
The Netapp scanner will not copy the file locally on the scanner server, The VirusScan Enterprise for Storage scans files in real time when they are accessed, stored, or modified on  the storage
devices.


However the ICAP  Internet Content Adaptation Protocol
When the request comes for scanning the entire file will be copied to local temporary folder of the computer where the Virus Scan enterprise for storage is configured , The VSES scan the file locally and it returns the file to ICAP client for end users access.
