VSE 8.8 * event ID 516 * mfehidk * registration .clb

Hello,

on a windows 2003 server i getting event ID 516 warning about the signed but untrusted code. The installed VSE is 8.8 P2 (P3 installer technically), plus the hotfix 793781. Following the related KB, i see only one not verified item on the list, what is the C:\%windir%\Registration\R00000000011e.clb. Looking for any related info at the Microsoft, i found a KB about the permissions, but the permission changes on the folder didn't help.

There is anything what i could do to prevent the eventlog entries?

Thank you

Best to work that out with a Support person.

The .clb file is not the file you're looking for.

While process explorer can let you identify the 'no brainer' untrusted parties, sometimes the culprit is a Microsoft file that ought to be trusted but is not (due to under-the-hood reasons associated with the certificate store), which are not straight forward to investigate and/or solve.
