VE 8.0i On-Access Scanner Disabled at Startup

Windows XP Professional SP3
VirusScan Enterprise 8.0.0
Virus Definitions: 5590
Scan Engine: 5300

The computer is used at home, and not connected to the corporate network.

Recently, when computer boots, the On-Access Scanner is disabled. I can enable it from the VirusScan Console, and it remains enabled until the next boot.

Is there a setting that controls whether or not On-Access Scanner is enabled at boot?

Check the account credentials being used to start the McAfee services sounds like the servuce may not have sufficient privilege to run at startup....

Checked Services

I checked, and all of the following services start automatically and run as Local System: McAfee Framework Srevice, Network Associates McShield, Network Associates Task Manager. Nothing interesting in the Event logs. How about my original question. Is there a setting that controls whether or not On-Access Scanner is enabled at boot?

RE: Checked Services

Yes - On Access General Policies - "Enable On-Access Scanning at System Startup"

Jim

Thanks

I was away from for a while, and just read your reply. That was it. The "Enable on-access scanning at system startup" setting was unchecked. Thank you!

How do you enable on-access scanning in Vista?

Do you do this in the registry? The service in not in Services.
