Unable to uninstall MA v5 from Windows 10 Anniversary Update

Hi,

When trying to uninstall McAfee Agent 5.0.3 from a Windows 10 machine using C:\Program Files\McAfee\Agent\x86\Frminst.exe /uninstall=-agent I get an error message stating "This app can't run on this PC, McAfee Agent 5 doesn't work on this version of Windows".

I have tried forcing the uninstall to run in compatibility mode without success.

Has anyone come across this before?

Hi, tried that with the same result.

I've discovered that MA v5.0.3 is incompatible with the Anniversary Update of Windows 10.

I've managed to resolve this by copying an installation of MA v5.0.4 from another machine and then running the uninstall command from that.

Try <location of frminst file>\frminst.exe /remove=agent
