Unable to add registry key to exclude a file

I am using VSE 8.5i across 1000+ pc's and I am trying to add a file in to the exclusion list by entering it as a registry key which could then be entered using a logon script.

I have tried doubling clicking the registry key I created and the system will say it has updated the registry successfully but when I check to ensure this has been done in regedit the key is not there and the mcafee exclusion list is empty

the registry file I created is

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\McAfee\VSCore\On Access Scanner\McShield\Configuration\Default]
"ExcludedItem_0"="3|3|C:\WINDOWS\system32\hiderun.exe"

Please could someone help a newbie as the thought of manually updating 1000+ pc's is not worth thinking about

This is exactly what ePO does for you!  You can easily manage the exclusion list on 1000+ PCs by changing the policy in ePO. Seriously, it's the only way to go.

Hello

You can add Exclusion from ePO---->Policy Catalog----->Virus Scan Enterprise----->On-Access High Risk Policy/On-Access Low Risk Policy
