Have the following script set up to install VSE
start /wait .\VirusScan_87\VSE870LMLRP4\setupvse.exe REBOOT=R ADDLOCAL=ALL REMOVE=LotusNotesScan RUNAUTOUPATESILENTLY="" RUNONDEMANDSCANSILENTLY="" /qn /l*v "c:\install\custom\McAfee_VSE_log.txt"
The install works but I was hoping to supress the AutoUpdate as this is delaying the install at completion.
The RUNAUTOUPATESILENTLY="" RUNONDEMANDSCANSILENTLY="" are supposed to prevent these happening after installation, but it didn't seem to work. Still the same delay.
What other options are there?
The base install contains only a skeleton DAT file (nominal version 1111) which offers little protection, which is why the update is run at the end of the install.
It seems a tad unwise to try to prevent that.
Thanks for the quick response. I agree but these are offline installs that will update as soon as they go online but the update is delaying the install by around 17 minutes. I need to supress this.
Use the new repost of VSE 8.7 with P5. I believe the switches to suppress the update did not work on Patch 4.
Also MID (McAfee Installation Designer) can be used.
