Hello greensuman,

This is a McAfee KB that can help you McAfee KnowledgeBase - How to perform a VirusScan Command Line scan in Microsoft Windows

For more details, this is also the link  to download mcafee virus scan command line scanner 6.0.4 product guide http://tit59.free.fr/UTIL/virusdos/vscl604wpg.pdf

Re: Scanning Using Command Line

Hi Greensuman,

I wrote a discussion on VirusScan Command Line Scanner here:

. When it was written, it was version 6.0.4. Since then, CLS was updated to v6.0.5 and includes the 5700 engine. At this time, I believe the article is still accurate.

Scheduling via CLS is not so easy. The point of CLS is to run the program from the command line, not via a scheduled task. For scanning scheduled tasks, VirusScan Enterprise and ePO are better tools.

Good luck, I hope this helps.
