SDStbRes.dll: The module could not be found

Jump to solution

Greetings of the day.

When we run the superdat file downloaded from your security update page, we are unable to run and update the antivirus definitions and patch the files.

"SDStbRes.dll: The module could not be found" is evident on all those systems which have no access to the internet.  All systems are running with Virus Scan Enterprise, Patch 13 or patch 15, Windows 7 and Windows 10, x64 bit.  On the windows 10 system, VSE itself was blocking.

We are facing this issue for about a month now.

Regards.

Hello @foshyloc,

In the VSE8.8 Update 8 or later, access protection rules may block when you run the SDAT package.
In that case, please use the following workaround.
-Open the VirusScan console.
-Right-click [Access Protection] and select [Properties] from the context menu.
-Click Common Standard Protection.
-Select Prevent changes to McAfee Scan Engine files and settings and click Edit.
-In the [Exclude] field, scroll to the bottom of the existing list, insert "," (comma), add sdstub64.exe, and click [OK].

Alternatively, you can run SDAT with access protection temporarily disabled.
