SDStbRes.dll: The module could not be found

Receiving SDStbRes.dll: The module could not be found when attempting to install Dat file.

 

Windows 10 Professional not connected to a network. 

McAfee Agent 5.0.6.220

McAfee Version Number 8.8.0.1906

DAT 9403xdat

I uninstalled and reinstalled McAfee and update applied normally.

Hi @Rockb 

Thank you for your post. There are several reasons these error may come up.

First is corrupted DATs in use. May I know if you are using the latest dat copy from here

Can you help me with the name or any further details you have regarding the DAT file you are trying to run?(DAT version, name of the file, source of the DAT file)

I am getting the updates from that same location.

Hi @Rockb 

That is the correct version. Strange! Thank you for your response. Normally I would suggest an upgrade of product when I see old version in place. (in this case VSE 8.8 Patch 10). Is it possible to upgrade this machine to Patch 13?

If I am  not wrong, this is the only machine facing this issue, right?

I would also like to confirm that the machine has enough free space in it's root drive.

Can you please take a screenshot of the about section of the Virusscan Enterprise console and please share it so that we can see what DAT and engine versions are in place?

I have tested on two machines.  One updated fine the other did not.

Hi @Rockb 

Very Glad to hear that! An update to newer version should also do the trick. Although, I am really unsure what the root cause of this issue is.

Support has seen a variety of reasons on different scenarios starting from a very old versions of DAT being present, corrupted previous DAT install, lack of reboot, folder permissions issue,etc. Kudos to you for resolving the issue and updating the same here!
