Purge DAT files?

I've just taken over a network which I'm in the process of "cleaning up".

Running VirusScan Enterprise 8. I've noticed the below path has over 3gigs worth of DAT files dating back to 2007.

Can I manually delete these files to free disk space?

\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Network Associates\Common Framework\Current\VSCANDAT1000\DAT\0000

Moved from VirusScan 8 & Previous Versions (Home) to Desktop & Server (Enterprise) - MOD
