Try this locally:

wmic product where name="McAfee Agent" call uninstall /nointeractive

Also, are you able to install/uninstall other software without issue?

Wondering if maybe your windows installer is corrupted?

Maybe try the system file checker but it's kind of a toss up if it is worth your time or to just resort to a system restore/re-image:

sfc /scannow

System file checker had no complaints.  I will re-install the machine.  Thanks for the help on this.

If you can get your hands on the old Windows installer cleanup utility, it works great!  I had the same issue myself.  The program is msicuu2.exe.  Microsoft no longer offers it, but you can find it out on the web.
