Not showed x64 bit scan engine version after engine update VSE 8.8

Hello,

On our process control systems using VSE 8.8

I have updated scan engine from 5400 to 5700 on Windows 7 Pro x64 bit

But, now only x32 bit scan engine version showed 5700, x64 bit scan engine version still the same - 5400

I have installed in sequence:

a) virus database (DAT) on old engine

b) upgraded scan engine

c) installed patch 2

d) installed patch 4

On other computers tried sequence:

a) upgraded scan engine

b) virus database (DAT) on old engine

c) installed patch 2

d) installed patch 4

wuolia - now on others computers showing both engine version good.

Question: how fix where I installed with first sequence or it is a bug ?

Re: Not showed x64 bit scan engine version after engine update VSE 8.8

If you validate the version of the binaries, you'll establish whether it's a reporting bug or if the engine didn't upgrade -

The x64 engine exists in a subfolder from the x86 engine.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\McAfee\Engine\x64

The binary is called Mscan64a.dll, check it's properties to verify the version.

And if it's a reporting bug, we typically treat those as low severity issues - that tend to fall to the bottom of the list when identifying things to fix. Especially so if there's a workaround for causing the values to report accurately (like rebooting).
