McAfee seems in conflict with email in System 7

I just had my system upgraded to WIndows 7 and now I am unable to send email from Windows Live or Mozilla Thunderbird unless I disable my McAfee Virusscan Enterprise.  My corporate Outlook account is fine and works perfectly  I have checked the settings and had them confirmed by the two ISPs that I use.    Anybody else seeing this and got a clue how to fix it?

A couple of questions for starters:

- Can you provide any error message? (screenshots preferred)

- What version of VirusScan Enterprise (VSE) are you running?

Here is what is says

10/19/2011    1:42:39 PM    Blocked by port blocking rule     C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Mail\wlmail.exe    Anti-virus Standard Protection:Prevent mass mailing worms from sending mail    {ip address removed}

When I try to add MLMAIL.EXE to the excluded list, my entry doesn't stay, it is erased
