VSE 8.8 Patch 9 is able to download thorugh software manager on ePO but No KB released RTW. We may expect it by april 1st week.

I can see it on system tray & Registry. Where exactly, you are expecting to show the patch version?

it is not an issue, I can see it every time i log into win-10 machine.

Anyways, try to reboot and check it.

I have the same problem even after reboot. There is no icon in systray an it's not blocking EICAR.

me too: WIn7, Patch 9, agent 4.8.

OAS is disabled and cannot be reenabled...

Windows 7 is end of maintenance on Jan 2015

McAfee Agent 4.8 is EOL by March 31st 2018

I didnt expect that still testing 4.8 version with latest products. Users must plan to migrate their agent to 5.x (supports TLS 1.2)because of known vulnerabilites that identified on cipher suites & DES.

Anyways, havent tested using above specs since we already rolled out windows 7 & MA 4.8.

so it should work.

McAfee agent 4.8 patch3 itself having issue and not relates to VSE patch 9.

If your environment still using MA 4.8 and it must support with VSE 8.8 p9 then approach platinum support. They will help and suggest any solution to resolve your issue.

Patch 9 install McAfee agent 5.0.5 by default.

As per my assumption, you might uninstalled MA 5.0.5 and installed MA 4.8 but McAfee already given the sequence/procedure of upgrade for previous versions from older verisons to latest. refer this article, this may help your testing--KB87328

I dont find older versions of VSE to test.
