MSDTC Errors

Last night on one of our SQL Servers we started getting MSDTC errors of 8501. All these errors are procedure by an McAfee 5051 Error logged in the windows event log. In the McAfee log right before this error, it started to refresh the .DAT file. I don't know if this is related or not. I thought I'd throw it out here and see. I have run across other postings that allude to this might be an issue.

We are running on Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008R2

We are running VirusScan Enterprise + AntiSpyware Enterprise 8.8.

SQL Server Error

Enlist operation failed: 0x8004d01c(XACT_E_CONNECTION_DOWN). SQL Server could not register with Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MS DTC) as a resource manager for this transaction. The transaction may have been stopped by the client or the resource manager.

This has now happened on the 2nd SQL Server in our cluster.

If you're unable to self-resolve the scanner timeout you're experiencing, I suggest contact Support.
