Hi all,
I have an issue with two servers showing their VScan on-access scanner as disabled after a fresh install of both the ePO agent and VScan software.
I have manually updated the ePO Agent and VScan to the latest patch versions & applied the latest SDAT but still no joy.
The Application event log shows the following error;
MCSCAN32 Engine Initialisation failed. Engine returned error : 1
Event ID 5022
Unfortunately I cannot find anything on the Knowledgebase relating to this error.
ePO Agent : 4.5.0.1810 (Patch 2)
VScan : 8.7.0.893 (Patch 4)
Anyone any suggestions ? I've even uninstalled all the McAfee software and reinstalled from scratch both via the ePO agent and manually installing.
Hi,
I've recently had the same issues with some of my servers in my environment and all I had to do is to restart the Mchsield service from the "Standard Services Tab" as I believe by default when you open your services it automatically takes you to the "Extended services Tab".
Worked for me so I would suggest you try it and see if sorts out your issues.
Regards,
Sibusiso
Dear ErinC,
Could you tell us about the version of the operating system and 32 or 64 bit OS.
1)uninstall the VSE and McAfee agent manually
2)first install the McAfee agent using the following command
FramePkg_UPD.exe /install=updater
3) Finally the VSE.
Pls refer the KB article which seems like your problem.

Hello Sir and/or Madam,
I have the same issue found on "Event Viewer" section "Application".
It is solved after UNINSTALL both McAfee VSE and McAfee Agent, then REINSTALL both McAfee Agent and McAfee VSE.
Hope my share help you.
