Latest word on Windows Defender and McAfee Antivirus solutions
I am trying to get the latest word on how McAfee antivirus solutions - VSE and ENS - work with Windows Defender in it's various forms. Do we still need to disable Windows Defender? Will it get automatically disabled on install of McAfee AV? Can they work together? There has been some new integration with Windows 10 OS updates and now Defender is call Windows Defender Security Center. Are there different best practices for this?
Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for your post!
Do we still need to disable Windows Defender?
As per the Windows Anti-Malware agreement, McAfee is not supposed to uninstall Windows Defender on Windows systems. We integrate with Windows Action Center (WAC) and when WAC sees that ENS Threat Prevention is installed, it disables Windows Defender.
However currently there is some known issues with ENS with Security Center integration as Microsoft keep changing their integration type on every version, after this we have to make changes to get ours integrated properly.
Do we still need to disable Windows Defender? Yes
Will it get automatically disabled on install of McAfee AV? No it will not disable automatically.
Can they work together? Yes, but we have some known issues currently as mentioned above and engineering is looking into it.
