Hi all, I would like to know how do I install VSE on a Debian Server. I needed help on this.
Any help on this?
Use your grant number to download McAfee VirusScan Enterprise for Linux v1.9. In the .zip file are the .debs for an unbuntu installation, they should work for Debain
Install instructions are also in the readme.
Is there any specfic settings need to be done? I refer to the Readme, however I do not know which to follow. Eg Centos, RHEL, Ubuntu.
Follow the Unbuntu instructions as Unbutu is built on top of Debian and uses the same .deb packages.
I tried but receives the following error.
"no support system for installation of VSEL"
Any idea?
Sadly it would appear that the installer is doing a validation of the OS and rejecting it.
There are some minimum requirements for Kernel versions etc.

What version of Debian are you running?
hmmm...
Am using Debian 6 (Squeeze) with Kernel 2.6.32-5. I went to check on ther kernel, it seems to fit the criteria.
Is there anyway we can go about installing it?
Same issue, but instead it was on crunchbang (debian derivitive). here was the solution:
cp /etc/lsb-release-crunchbang /etc/lsb-release
This fixed the installers "Version Checker" that was just looking at the file. No changes to the release file and it worked fine after that.
