In-houseApp and A/V Perf Issues

Appreciate any ideas in identifying issues and correcting them.

My company has an extensive in-house client application (recently updated) where now I am receving complaints that the a/v is severly degrading performance. Other then picking the develpment groups brains about how this is written, was curious about other methods that i might use to specifically identify where the hang up is.

I am thinking I'll be heading down the low-risk process/exception road but I first need to identify what this app is doing (where I can see it).

Can you recommend any favorite tools you use to identify processes, open files, directories etc to isolate what specifically I need to tell McAfee not to scan or only on r/w.

Sit there with process explorer open on the workstation while someone works through the app. but that doesnt log so would have to be checked in RT

xp local command:
A user could run these if you redirect to file (> xxx.txt) then email the file.

wmic process list full
openfiles /query


Processmon.exe **probably the best

I keep forgeting about sysinternals, txs to the previous post
