How to check if Autoupdate has succeeded - Virusscan Enterprise 8.7.0i.

Hello,

I have a query about Virusscan Enterprise 8.7.0i Autoupdate task. I have an AutoUpdate task scheduled to run every day at 5.00 am in the morning. This task check for latest virus definition files and updates it.

My question is, is there anyway to tell if the AutoUpdate task has run and if it has how do we tell it has succeeded in pulling down the latest definition files?

I know there is a log file UpdateLog.txt which we can read to find this information. But I wanted to know if I can do this programatically or reading a reg key or something as I need to run this check across multiple servers?

Thanks for your help.

Re

We do, but the AV servers are managed by someone else. We are unable to get this info on a daily basis to see if AV definitions are updated. It would be useful if I can run something locally on each server to determine this.

RE: Re

bit of a workaround but if they are epo 4.0 then you could get whoever manages them to set up reports for what you want and then EPo can be set to automatically run the queries, pull data into report and email it to you on its own every day
