Double extension Exclusions

Hi All

Have a quaetion regarding Autodesk Inventor.

We need to exclude the opening and writing of the files that Inventor uses.. (*.ipt)

I have already put in an exclusion for the .ipt file extension (Read and write) and Autodesk opens these up without issues (no performance issues).

When saving the files it take a long time. The differance seems to be that Autodesk seems to create a temp double extension file e.g. mydoc.0001.ipt during saving before writing the mydoc.ipt.

Question is does anyone know if I need to put a double extension exclusion in (e.g. *.0*.ipt)

Re: Double extension Exclusions

You should only use the ipt extension exclusion, you should not use path to exclude extensions unless you have other concerns.

Also extension exclusions take the first 3 character of the extension ex:

ipt exclusion should cover
