Does the upgrade from VSE 8.7i to 8.8 require a reboot?

We are planning to upgrade from 8.7i to 8.8 on about 1500 - 2003 and 2008 servers.

Do we need to reboot the servers after the installations?

If we don't reboot what features of VSE will not be available untill the next reboot?

We were hoping to get by with no immediate reboots.  We reboot all of the servers monthly when we deploy security patches.

Thanks for your help ...

Hi, no normaly it doesn't require a reboot, but the network filtering part will not be active until you reboot. All other Antivirus functions work.

Right ... called McAfee to get more info and it was explained that the Access control policies might not go into effect (we don't enforce any at this time) and the source of a virus (port - or workstation) may not be reported properly.

Thanks for your help!
