DAT file of VirusScan Entreprise 8.8 have to be updated manually from a managed computer

Jump to solution

The DAT version doesn't show into the console of the managed computer. The tech has to update the DAT file manually. The ePO agent (4.6.0.1694) seems to be communicating fine with the server.

How can I fix the problem?

Thanks in advance.

I would

1.  uninstall VSE and the agent

2. reboot

3. tidy up any left over registry entries and files

4. reboot

5. redeploy agent from ePO server

6. redeploy VSE from ePO server

The following KB entry can be used as a guide

https://kc.mcafee.com/corporate/index?page=content&id=KB59996

But if you are able to uninstall VSE and the agent via Windows add and remove programs then a lot of the steps can be ignored

I have ePolicy Orchestrator 4.5. Is it possible to deploy the agent with it?
