After installing patch 2 on AV 8.8, I am getting a larger amount of alerts then before I installed patch 2. from common standard protection.

could you check the LSM.EXE's version/vendor properties (to see if it looks like a legitimate file or not)?

How many termination requests does this file issue? "A lot" may mean this is a harmful file.

On the other side even with recent fine tuning of Access Protection sensitivity with regards to this rule, termination does not always mean real intent to terminate, but better be careful.

You could also submit LSM.EXE to virustotal.com, or threatexpert.com (latter for file analysis, not virus scanning).
