Block ip manually?

I was testing 8.5 enterprise, and it blocks ips if you have added a virus. But is there a way to block an ip address manually? Like add an ip address to block from accessing the server? I know this is more of a firewall's function, but can it do this? (I know I can use ipsec)

RE: Block ip manually?

i don't think so (there maybe smarter admins around with a work around), but by default no, this is something you want to take up with your firewall admin. you can do this at a PC level, or corporate network level, or use OPEN DNS as I now do, which has in-built content management.

best thing i ever did was switch the domain controllers and users to OpenDNS - got all my bandwidth back too!!

RE: Block ip manually?

I use opendns, opendns can block ips? I never knew that

well actually it uses domain names, if you can convert back to domain name (if it has one) then you can block it, but I don't think it does IP's by default - sorry.
