Access Protection Exclusions

Hello Everyone.

I am trying to figure out how to exclude folders from the access protection rule.  I have a rule setup that would block a certain file type, but I need to write those files to two certain folders.  is there anyway to block those files from being written except for those two folders?

Respectfully,

Chris Priester

Hi,

Follow the  McAfee KB50998..

Hope it will help you.

Thanks

Re: Access Protection Exclusions

I tried this, but this only seems to pertain to the "On-Access" Scan, not the "Access Protection policies"

I don't think you can do that. The inclusion/exclusion logic works for processes and you can't use it on files and paths.

Figured as much.  Is there another mcafee product that can be used to accomplish this task? DLP Maybe?

DLP won't work for your scenario. Maybe Change Control, but I haven't worked with it:
