I have aproblem/question. Iam having av for storage with 6 scaning servers.
When i look at the server statistics the avg scan time is 40-50 ms. Is that ok?
How can i know what are the numbers of scaning servers compared to my storge files?
Thank you for posting on the community.
You can get required number of VSES from following KB article.
"Best practices for configuring the required number of VirusScan Enterprises for Storage scanners"
Following article might be useful for your environment.
"FAQs for VirusScan Enterprise for Storage"
I really apologize for my late reply.
Though there is no official info, as far as I check some performance cases, the Average Scan Time would be in the range of ~ approximately less than 100ms to be considering it as a good response times.
I have another question at your disposal:
1) I have both av for storage and MOVE for the server environment and because the two products are based on a different engine then it happens that there is a lot of information that is scanned twice in both the first product and the second
For example the user profile in the VDI environment (the profile itself sits on the storage array) so it is scanned at the AV FOR STORAGE level and because the motors are not synchronized between them then while loading the user profile a scan is also performed in MOVE.
what can be done?
2) In my environment I noticed that the average scan times in MOVE are below 70 milisecond but in the AV FOR STORAGE environment I am on average of 50 ms and the max is 160 ms. Does this look right or do I need to add scan servers?
I recommend to disable scanning network drives in OAS policy of MOVE Antivirus.
Or exclude all paths that scan by VSES.
Sorry to bother you but please post to following forum.
