Last 'reply' on a thread, not active

Jump to solution

Found that the last message of a thread cannot be 'replied' to as the link is inactive.

I had to Reply to a previous post and cut-n-paste the correct message as the 'quote.' Further, this leaves the Replied to: referencing the wrong/unintended post.

Thanks,

Ron Metzger

Using LightBeam, I found that on Aug. 1, panoramtech.net was linked to a web site I have been using, well, forever. Will report to that site, and see where it goes. Blocking panaramtech.net.

Solved:

Added Hosts entry:

127.0.0.1     ads.panoramtech.net

Seems to deactivate links when logged in and the advertising slides in front of a link.

Not sure where this came from, but only occurs when logged in.

Yeah, Ron, I'm able to reply to the last message in a thread... Also, I'm not sure what panoramtech actually is.... Is that something you have installed on your computer?

Hi Ron, me again. It looks like adware. I found this: Remove Ads.panoramtech.net virus (Removal Guide)

Yes, seems to be adware. The Advertising was for McAfee Total Protection.

Ran RKill, AdwCleaner, and MalwareBytesAntiMalware. Nothing found.

Rebooted.

Now, here, nothing happening.

Went thru the link for Remove Ads.panoramtech.net virus (Removal Guide) and found nothing that would indicate a need for removal.

One issue showed up: Flash Add-on (latest, 14.0.0.145) failed to load within Firefox, giving an error message. I wonder????

I tend to be pretty conservative about surfing practices. Haven't seen anything unusual in quite some time. I will run Stinger, just in case.

Anyway, the hosts entry seems to be blocking the behavior. Will monitor the problem and run Profiler if it returns.

Go into Flash in your PC Control Panel - 32bit applications and look at Exceptions in the Flash widget,

Ya, that was my thought as well. Seems to be loading fine.

Also, FireFox is using Flash just fine. That error message could be a red herring.
