A friend used my computer and added true key, my passwords changed I don't know the one he put in for himself and now i cannot log on to windows or do anything. How can I access windows to delete or restore to my original state before loaning my computer? I upgraded to windows 10 from windows 8.1 64bit, now I think windows 10 has been lost but I cannot log on to know for sure.
Hi there, the only way that True Key could interact with Windows could be with Windows Hello at the login level, but even if he set that up you can always deactivate this from the control panel and asking him Windows Hello not to use your face or fingerprint to log you on.
But even if this was set up, Windows at the login prompt gives you a choice to use True Key to log on or using your regular Windows password, so again this should not be a problem and you don't need to restore anything.
If your issue is after the Windows login and while you are already logged on to Windows, if you have True Key running you just need to sign in to your account and then you should be seeing your login passwords on your True Key application.
If you do not have True Key installed, you can easily remove this app that your friend installed and again it should not be interacting with you at the OS login level or even after that once you are already logged on.
I hope this helps,
let me know if there are any issues.
