I have 2 windows 10 platforms where facial recognition stopped working as of Friday. I've seen the announcement about support ending, but it is supposed to be later in the month. I have to admit, I'm extremely disappointed in McAfee and the way True Key has been handled over the last few months. I think it may be time to look for an alternate password manager as my faith in McAfee is waning. And I'm a former Intel employee with a bias towards wanting to use Intel products.
My facial recognition has failed as others, how can I just delete it before Sept 25th to avoid TK issues or can I continue using was Master Password without having login problems?
I was wondering this too. Was Facial recognition re-introduced? I got the email but all the online references show it as still a feature and it is still an option on iOS. I hope it is...
Good morning Hyjack,
Face sign in should work as expected, if it does not please provide more information on your specific setup, such as what system are you using and it's operating system version, TK version and perhaps more important of all are you using the desktop standalone or the browser extension model (where the True Key launchpad opens up on a browser tab).
I use windows 10 and Google chrome.
Why would a security system work properly, then stop suddenly?
The only way that I can access my email etc is by using my TK password, facial doesn't work.
Can you please confirm as on my previous email if you are using extension first opening True Key launchpad on a browser tab or the desktop standalone model.
The reason why I mention this is that in case you are using the extension first, you would need to download a binary package that will provide the face recognition capabilities.
As promised, getting back to you, face recognition for signing is working again on the desktop. If it does not work right away and you are not prompted to use the face to sign in, please sign in with your master password and sign out from TK and on the next sign in it should prompt you to use your face to enter the application.
