Windows Security Center: Your MaAfee subscription has expired today.

Renew now to protect your computer from the latest Ransomeware viruses.

 

 

The above ^ popped-up on my computer! I didn't click on it, just pressed X.

Bit worried, Malwarebytes scan is clear and running a full McAfee scan just now.

 

Chrome Browser / Windows 10 / McAfee license until 2019

Please ignore the popup. However follow the below steps and run quick clean to remove browser cookies and cache.

  1. Open McAfee
  2. Select Privacy on the top
  3. Click Remove cookies and trackers 
  4. Open the Settings drawer.
  5. Select or deselect the cleaning tools you want QuickClean to use for this scan.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. Click Clean.
  8. You can open the drawers in the Confirm QuickClean window to verify the items listed. If you approve of the selections, click Continue.  
  9. Click Done.
