XP security 2012 virus

How do I get rid of it...I previously had the AV Protection 2011 virus.  Mcafee doesn't seem to find it and detect it.

This document from McAfee will assist you in resolving your issue.

If none of the remedies work in the document you might want to consider the information in this link

Moved to Top Threats

Try running the Fake AV Stinger, which can be downloaded from here

If it doesn't find it use the link that Tom (K3TG) has provided - it provides a lot of useful information.

I think this manual removal video can also help to get rid of  XP Security 2012:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-uzKZkVmKk

Re: XP security 2012 virus

I too have the virus and McAfee doese not detect it. It also has a pinging program that McAfee blocks, but I can't get rid of it from my pc. It also is slowing my internet down drastically

Re: XP security 2012 virus

XP Internet Security 2012 / XP Security Center 2012 / XP Antispyware 2012 / XP Antivirus 2012 / XP Security 2012 / XP Home Security 2012  all these are same spayware.

If you are trying to remove this spyware, there are full instructions on how to do  that manually at the link :

How to fix file associations in Windows:  https://community.mcafee.com/docs/DOC-1264

Kuttus please don't post registry key fixes, especially from rival software companies.
