TIE virtual server appliance install failed

Hi Heroes,

TIE latest ISO image && VMware vSphere 5.5

I saw that as per the kb83368, we cant install TIE 3.0.x on vSphere 5.5, but it only mentioned vSphere 5.1 is supported, how about vSphere 5.5, can we install TIE 2.3/2.1 on it?

VMware vSphere 5.1.0 with ESXi 5.1 1, 2 No Yes Yes Yes

Initially, we tried to install TIE 3.0.1 on vSphere 5.5 but it was failed on the last step - MA initialization, I attached a screenshot for this. I suspect it's a communication issue but it was not. there has no firewall rules between ePO and TIE appliance.

Can someone suggests on this. thank in advance.

Re: TIE virtual server appliance install failed

Hello User21257322

We wouldn’t recommend installing TIE on an unsupported version of Vsphere, VMware doesn’t support this version anymore as per https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/51491 and our suggestion is to install TIE on a currently supported Hypervisor

I have checked internally and our recommendation is for you to keep using TIE 2.3.1 on your current Vsphere 5.1 until you can upgrade the hypervisor and subsequently move to TIE 3.0 as we do not support TIE 3.x on VSphere 5.x

Regards

Thanks, looks like we can install 2.3.1 successfully...

right, indeed that's our recommendation until you can upgrade the hypervisor and subsequently move to TIE 3.0 as we do not support TIE 3.x on VSphere 5.x
