TIE server DNS and other Comms question

Hi all

I am looking at changing the DNS server addresses on the TIE server which i can do using a script, however, i had one question, does the TIE server talk to anything using DNS internally, for example the EPO server or clients, or is this all done by IP?

For reasons i can explain but are a big long winded so wont bother unless someone is really interested i was hoping to point the DNS setting on our TIE server to an internal BIND  server which has no knowledge of our windows domain.

thanks

Re: TIE server DNS and other Comms question

Hello Nav_00001,

Yes the TIE server will attempt to communicate to DXL brokers and ePO both by name and IP addresses and if those are configured with FQDN that would be a DNS lookup. They should both failover to using the configured IP addresses of those services if DNS is unavailable.

Thanks

Brian
